Accounts and eligibility
An account is how a spool stays yours.
You need an account to publish. Sign-up and sign-in run on Clerk, and we never see or store your password. To open an account you must be able to enter a binding contract where you live. If you use Spool for a company or other organization, you confirm that you can agree to these terms for it.
You are responsible for the account: the email on it, who can sign in to it, and what gets published from it. If you administer an organization, you are also responsible for the members you add. Keep the sign-in yours.
Acceptable use
Use Spool for walkthroughs you are allowed to show.
You may record, publish, and share walkthroughs of software you have a right to show. You may not:
- Break the law, or use Spool to help someone else break it.
- Publish credentials, customer data, or anything else you do not have a right to share.
- Probe, disrupt, or overload Spool, or anyone else's systems.
- Send spam, or use the service to harass a person.
- Pretend generated text or audio was checked by a person when it was not.
We may suspend an account that does these things, and we may remove a published spool when we learn it should not be up.
Unlisted, not private
A published spool is unlisted, not private. Anyone with the link can watch it.
Publishing does not list the spool in a public directory, and it does not make the spool private. The watch link is the only access control. The video is served from a public blob store, so anyone who has the link can open it and can pass the link on. Treat the take as if you were about to hand that link to a stranger.
A published recap is unlisted, not private, in the same way. Anyone with its link can watch it. Vertical recaps from a repository that has opted in can also appear on the dashboard of every member of its organization. Everything else stays link-only.
Do not record credentials, customer data, or anything you would not put behind a link that can be forwarded.
AI-generated content
You own it. You are responsible for it. It may contain errors.
Voiceover, recap narration, and other text or audio a model writes for your account belong to you. Spool does not claim that output. You are responsible for checking it, for where you publish it, and for what it says about a product or a person.
Generated content can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Review it before you rely on it or send it to someone else. We do not warrant that it is accurate.
Payments
The Pro subscription is billed through Stripe. You cancel any time in the Stripe customer portal.
The price and what Pro includes are shown before you pay. Card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. You can cancel any time in the Stripe customer portal. The dashboard opens that portal for the person who administers billing. Cancelling stops future renewals. The period you already paid for runs until it ends.
We store the Stripe customer id, the plan, and when the current billing period ends. Stripe is what tells us a subscription changed.
Liability
The service is as-is, and liability is limited.
Spool is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be correct.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for content that is lost. Our total liability for a claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Spool in the twelve months before the claim. If you paid nothing, that amount is zero.
Those limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Account and content deletion
Delete a spool from the dashboard. Email us to delete the account.
Delete a published spool from your dashboard whenever you like. The video, its artifacts, and its link go with it.
To delete your account and everything in it, email aarnav@lyratechnologies.com.au. That is the same address as the privacy page. Deleting the account revokes every publish token with it. A copy of your data, or a correction, goes to that same address.
Changes to the terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
We update this page when the terms change and move the effective date. If a change is material we will say so here rather than let you find it. Using Spool after the new date means you accept the update. If you do not, stop using Spool and email us to delete the account.
